I went out to the hazel wood, 머리 속에 타는 불 있어
Because a fire was in my head, 나 개암나무 숲으로 갔네
And cut and peeled a hazel wand, 가서 나뭇가지 꺾어 껍질 벗기고
And hooked a berry to a thread; 갈고리 바늘에 딸기 꿰고 줄을 매달아
And when white moths were on the wing, 흰 나방 날고

I dropped the berry in a stream 나는 냇물에 그 열매를 던져

When I had laid it on the floor 돌아와 그걸 마룻바닥에 놓고
I went to blow the fire aflame, 불을 피우러 갔을 때
But something rustled on the floor, 뭔가 마룻바닥에서 바스락거렸고
And some one called me by my names: 누가 내 이름을 불렀네.

It had become a glimmering girl 송어는 사과 꽃을 머리에 단
With apple blossom in her hair 어렴풋이 빛나는 아씨가 되어
Who called me by my name and ran 내 이름을 부르곤 뛰어나가
And faded through the brightening air. 빛나는 공기 속으로 사라졌네.


Though I am old with wandering 낮은 땅 높은 땅 헤매느라고
Through hollow lands and hilly lands, 비록 나 늙었어도
I will find out where she has gone, 그녀가 간 곳을 찾아내어
And kiss her lips and take her hands; 입 맞추고 손 잡으리,
And walk among long dappled grass, 그리하여 얼룩진 긴 풀 사이를 걸으며
And pluck till time and times are done 시간과 세월이 다 할 때까지 따리라

The silver apples of the moon, 달의 은빛사과
The golden apples of the sun. 해의 금빛 사과를.
