제 아내요? 순하고 착하며 제 말이라면 그냥 무조건 따릅니다. 그렇게 살아온 세월이 벌써 9년이 되었네요. 결혼한 날부터 아내는 저에게 존댓말을 씁니다. “당신은 제 반쪽이에요. 제 인생을 맡긴 소중한 사람에게 어떻게 반말을 할 수 있겠어요? 남편을 공경해야죠.”라고 말하곤 합니다. 유난히도 둔한 저는 그냥 당연한 것처럼 여기며 살았습니다. 세상 다른 부부들도 다 그렇게 사는 줄 알았습니다.

What can I say about my wife? She is innocent and good and always agrees with me, without any complaints. We have been happily married for nine years.   Since the day we married, my wife has spoken to me with polite expressions.   “You are my half. How can I talk roughly to a beloved one whom l entrusted my life? It is natural for me to respect my husband,” she would say.   I have lived an ordinary life, taking it natural. I think other couples in the world live like I do.
