남들에게 보여주기 위해, 분수에 넘게 갈아치우고 빚에 허덕이는 것보다 내 맘 편한 것이 더 나으니까요. 새 아파트로 이사하면서 쓸 만한 제품 갔다 버리고 멀쩡한 벽면 다 뜯어내는 것이 유행처럼 번지고 있는걸 보면 경제가 어려워지는 것은 당연한 결과인 듯 싶습니다. 아끼자고 하면서도 사람들은 자꾸만 소비를 하려 합니다. 내 가정의 경제가 소리 없이 가난해지는데 말입니다.

I prefer comfort rather than showing-off by replacing furniture with new pieces and then suffering from debts.   These days, there is a fad of remodeling by removing walls and discarding intact furniture when we move into a new apartments. It appears that our economy worsens more and more from this tendency.   People spend more and more though they insist thriftiness. Meanwhile, our domestic economy gets poor without anyone noticing.
