큰 기업을 효과적으로 운영하려면 어떤 자질이 필요합니까?   대기업의 리더들에게는 세 가지 사항이 필요합니다. 첫 째는 모든 팀이 어디를 향해 가는지에  관한 큰 그림을 그려야 합니다. 이것은 방향을 결정하는 데 있어서 중요합니다. 이 여행에서 특히 내 임무가 무엇이고 상대의 임무가 무엇인지 아는 것이지요. 우린 이것을 ‘비전’이라고 부릅니다.   두 번째는 영감입니다. 개인적으로 들릴 수도 있겠네요. 하지만 뛰어난 리더들은 함께 일하는 사람들에게 영감을 줄 수 있어야 합니다. 세 번째로 모든 사업은 앞으로 나아가고 돈을 벌어야 합니다. 이것을 타성(추진력)이라고 하죠.   회사들은 타성을 만들어야만 하고 그들이 통제하는 다양한 프로젝트가 앞으로 나아갈 수 있도록 해야 합니다.

What qualities are needed to run a large company effectively?   The leader of a large company needs to do three things. First, create a picture of where the whole team should be going. This is important in setting the direction, particularly what is my role or your role going to be in that journey. Well, this we call “vision.”   The second thing is inspiration, which sounds very personal. But great leaders manage to inspire the people that they work with.   Thirdly, all business need to move forward and make money: this is momentum. They need to create momentum and make sure that people are moving forward with the various projects that are under their control.
