힘들어도 그때가 좋았지요

결혼을 하고 미처 전세금 올려줄 만큼도 여유가 안되었을 때

큰아들이 태어났다

결혼을 할 때 부터 오만 원을 회사에서 융자를 내어

매달 육천원의 빚을 갚을 때였다

친정엄마가 계셔서 가끔 전에 다니던 회사가 바쁠 때는 나가서

영문 무역서류와 편지를 타자하는 아르바이트를 했었다

실내가 춥기도 하고 건조해서인지 아기는 자주 감기도 잘 걸려서

병원을 밥먹듯이 드나들면서 기저귀 빠는 일이 제일 큰 일이었다

어느 날은 가성 콜레라로 겨울에 입을 내복이 미처 다 마르기 전에

여름 내복을 입혀가면서 기저귀를 갈아댄 적도 있었다 

전세금 올리는 대신에 담이 무너진 천호동에 있는 양옥 블록집으로 된 곳으로

이사를 했다.  남편은 그 곳에서 인천에 있는 큰 정유회사에 출근하면서 몇 해를

보내야만 했다

다시 마포로 이사를 한 다음 삼십여 년 전에 이곳 목동 아파트로 이사를 온 다음에는

한 곳에서 지금까지 살고 있다 지금은 근처에 공공 건물도 필요한 시설도 부족한 것이

없는 환경이어서 주거단지로 으뜸으로 생각한다

잦은 해외 출장이 많았던 작은아들  한테도 공항이 가까워서 더 좋은 곳이 아니었나 싶다 

단지 마다 넓은 공간에 꽃나무가 잘 정비되어 있는 것은 물론 한길만 건너면

파리 공원이 있어 운동 코스로도 그만이고 봄이 되면

벚꽃으로 이루어진 안양천변 산책 코스도 가까워서 더 좋은 곳인 것 같다

Yesterday Once More(1973)/Carpenters 노래를 배우면서

선생님의 1973년에는 어떤 일이 있었나를 묻는 질문을 생각하다가

"힘들어도 그 때가 좋아지요" 라는 대답을 하고 싶어서....

At the time my first child was just born after marriage,
 I couldn't afford  raised rental fees and had no choice but to borrow 50,000 won from the company 
on the condition of paying a debt of 6,000 won per month
Thanks to my mom who stayed with me to help household at that time, 
sometimes I went out for doing a part time job of making shipping documents and trading letter for the

company  I used to work for .

The baby got sick easily due to possible reason of cold and dry indoor air.
The toughest thing at that time is to make frequent visit to hospital and change diapers for the baby.

Sometimes in winter , I was requested to put summer underwear on the baby who suffered from 

pseudocholera when changing diapers due to shortage situation.


I have decided to buy a house with broken walls instead of paying increased rental fees. 
My husband used to work for a big oil company while staying there for a few years.


After moving one more time to Mapo area, I finally moved into Mok-dong Apartment 30 years ago and

have lived till now.  
Due to many facilities and public institutions, I believe this town is one of best area for living.
Air port is also very near  , helped the youngest son who had many chances for business trip.


In addition, there are enough spaces for each block with flowers & trees and a big park ( called Paris

park) good for exercise,
Anyang- chen brings me a  very good walking courses when spring comes with cherry blossoms.

Learning a song 'Yesterday once more(1973), thinkig of the question " What happend to you in 1973?


Because I wanted to say ' Those were the days ( even though it was  tough time)
